The proposed building will be located in a valley of the Pafos area, along a water stream and green agricultural area.

The arrangement of the building is an answer to the specific client’s requirements, allowing for 2 independent 2 bedroom apartments on the ground floor. And a 3 bedroom dublex on the upper floors, with the possibility for future extension and split into 2 separate apartments.

 

The main architectural concept was to create a main open plan living space and kitchen area with cross views and verandas on opposite sides, optimizing the views on the green area and water stream on one side and the views on Pafo's hills and sunset on the south-west side.

 

The double orientated, recessed verandas allow  2 options for sitting comfortably outside during various moments of the day and year. Optimizing shade and natural ventilation during the summer and sun exposure in the winter.

 

The generous openings on 3 sides of the living area give a sense of openness and allow plenty of natural light to fill the space while maximizing the views on the surrounding greenery.

 

Overhangs, recesses and climbing plants on the facade allow for adequate shading, while the organic motives of the shading device and pergola, and copper colors of the building refer to the natural earth elements of the site.

 

At the ground floor the yard's landscape is adapted to the natural slope, shaped in multiple accessible levels and in continuity with the water stream banks, thus extending visually the garden and unifying it with the adjacent greenery
