Student's dorms & Facilities
2025 Limassol, Cyprus
The proposal is organized around two elongated wings running parallel to the site’s east and west edges. They converge at an acute angle, forming an outward-facing courtyard that serves as a green hub at ground level and opens toward the surrounding landscape.Upper-floor corridors wrap around the courtyard, providing views, natural light, and ventilation.
These circulation paths connect private units and shared facilities while offering visual connections to the urban landscape, skyline, and greenery. Small intermediate seating areas enhance community interaction and foster personal social exchanges.
The building massing adapts to its context, rising to six floors in the north to align with neighboring structures, while tapering to a three-story block in the southwest, ensuring harmonious integration and minimizing shadowing on adjacent homes.
On the façades, perforated metal panels cover balconies, creating a dynamic pattern of solid and screened surfaces. Shared activity areas are highlighted in yellow, contrasting with the cooler tones of the rooms. Panels also provide privacy, partial shading, and opportunities for climbing plants to integrate greenery into the façade.
The design adopts a biophilic approach, responding to both its built and natural context while enhancing the sense of community.
