The design proposal responds to the client’s request to preserve and enhance, as much as possible, the existing planting of the plot, which was originally part of the client’s garden.

The construction combines a prefabricated steel frame with compressed earth blocks. The former allows faster, cleaner construction and the possibility of easier future deconstruction. The earth blocks of the ground floor walls provide a material continuity with the natural character of the plot while offering:

– a low environmental footprint

– non-toxic, healthier living spaces

– indoor temperature and humidity regulation

– durability and fire resistance
