The original building was an old monastery mentioned in ancient inscriptions from the 18th century. Destructions and modifications to the original building have been made through the years up to it's transformation to an hydrotherapy center, in the beginning of the 20th century, following the discovery of sulfide sources on it's location.

In 2009 the community board of the Village decide to upgrade the center into a luxury hotel & spa resort, by renovating, extending the existing and adding an independent Spa building, adjacent to the existing, highlighting the traditional architectural and cultural heritage of the village. The design and supervision was executed in close collaboration with G. Psomas Architects

The building preserves elements and the atmosphere of the traditional architecture of 18th century monasteries, while introducing modern elements especially to the new spa building, with generous openings on the surrounding green area.
