The terrain is situated in a secluded area in Tala, surrounded by houses on 3 sides, and an adjacent green area on the south boundary.

The client’s request was to renovate and upgrade the existing old house into a contemporary villa with an additional floor, including 5 bedrooms and a workshop

 

The main concept was to utilize the existing u shape of the house to create a private green patio on the north side, that would function as the heart of the villa. Where the main outdoor sitting area with barbecue and the kitchen are located. The staircase and 1st floor sitting area also allow for views on the green patio.

The main living area situated in between the patio on the north and a covered  veranda on the south with generous openings, gives the sense of continuity with the outdoors and creates cross views on the greenery while allowing for natural ventilation.

 

The shaping concept consisted of a cascade of full white cubes, contrasting with the transparent recessed facades of the main central living spaces and circulations, and horizontal planes as shading features.
